The 138th Open Golf Championship – Turnberry, Ayrshire
Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th July 2009
The 138th Open Championship will take place at the Westin Turnberry Resort for 2009.
Located on the edge of the River Clyde, Turnberry will no doubt host another memorable championship.
Having won two consecutive British Open Championships, Padraig Harrington will be looking to make it
a hat-trick of titles. Turnberry was the stage in 1977 for arguably the greatest 36 hole drama between
two contestants in major championship golf. It was a showdown between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson whose
famous “Duel in the Sun” was settled by a single shot with Tom Watson taking the title.
As an Open Guest, you will be well placed to enjoy the day’s sporting
excitement and benefit from a full day’s hospitality. This is the
perfect value for money package close to all the action.
