Team Building
The Event Management Professionals
The aim of the Team Building event is to bring people together from the
organisation and create a corporate team identity and to provide an opportunity
to meet people from different parts of the organisation.
The main focus of the day will be to achieve the objectives set by your company
in a fun and productive manner. This can be in the form of a light-hearted treasure
hunt or a carefully monitored training exercise.
Some of the more light-hearted tasks we feature vary in duration from 30 minutes to several
hours and are generally low in physical demand. They are designed to provide opportunities
for teams to learn about team dynamics, decision-making, problem solving and communication
skills etc. They also serve to facilitate an understanding of the contributions made by each
individual in the team and illustrate the key team roles required in a balanced team.
Some examples of short 30-minute exercises:
Spiders Web - construction of rope stretched between two trees, the team
must pass through the web without touching any part. Each section of the web can only be used once.
Sheep Pen - each member of the team is blindfolded apart from one who is nominated as the shepherd.
The objective is to guide all the blind 'sheep' through a torturous course and into a pen using a
whistle as the only means of communication.
Tying the Knot - using a Tug of War rope with half the team on either end, the objective is to tie a
knot in the middle of the rope without any of the team releasing their grip. This requires careful planning
and intricate manoeuvring to complete within a set time.
